Achievements:

Michael Stillwell - FAICD is an experienced Independent Company Director with a forty year background in the fields of Family Business, Automotive Retail, International Aviation and Information Technology.

Having completed an Executive MBA and a Masters of Marketing at the University of Melbourne Business School Michael’s core strengths are in the areas of Strategic Planning, Leadership Development, Retail Sales and Marketing, International Business, Governance and Risk Management.

In addition to his role as a Non-Executive Director of the family-owned Stillwell Motor Group, Michael is a Director of Interplast Australia where he provides strategic input to the Marketing, Fundraising and Communications functions.

Michael also serves as a Director of the Australian Motor Sport Foundation and is Chair of the Advancement Committee for the Melbourne Business School Alumni Council. Michael is a member of Family Business Australia where he has served as Audit Committee Chairman on FBA’s National Board and as Chairman of FBA’s Victorian Chapter.

As the eldest second generation member of the Stillwell Family Michael played a key role in the transition and growth of the Stillwell Family business following the death of family patriarch Bib Stillwell in mid 1999. Having contributed actively to the family succession plan and the recruitment of a non-family Chief Executive Officer, Michael retired early in 2009 from his full time role within the family business.

In addition to the recently completed Masters of Marketing at Melbourne Business School Michael’s education includes an Executive MBA at Melbourne Business School, a number of AICD Company Director’s programs, a Graduate Diploma of Management at Monash University plus a variety of Ford, BMW and industry based training programs. Over recent years Michael has also lead and co-facilitated training and leadership development programs throughout a variety of organisations and regularly shares his wisdom at numerous speaking engagements.
